What You Can Expect

As our Geographical Information Science (GIS) Analyst, at Georgetown University, in Washington, DC, you will be responsible for a variety of digital map production tasks related to managing the utility infrastructure survey and underground location information in a GIS system operating on an ESRI software platform. You will be responsible for a variety of digital map production, along with As-built drawings tasks related to mechanical room information. GIS Analyst will be responsible for maintaining high voltage electrical, steam, condensate, chilled water, heating hot water, domestic water/sewer lines in the GIS database.

Every day you will lead the development and quality control of data keeping systems and records for buried utility distribution systems and utilities distribution in the mechanical rooms. You will assist and direct field survey teams in utility marking and mapping and collaborate with internal and external customers resolving design questions for new underground construction and new work in the mechanical rooms. You will report to the Director of Energy Delivery.

What You'll Bring

  • BA/BS degree, or 2 years equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in utility system marking and mapping
  • Familiar with AutoCAD software systems; and ASCE- American Society of Civil Engineers 38-02 Utility Locating Standard and surveying best practices
  • 1 year experience utilizing ARCMAP- software and ESRI- software systems
  • Format and compile data from field surveys, archived records, construction drawings and as-built records and input into the campus GIS system
  • Develop and support mobile/field software, desktop and server tools, applications and products to facilitate data management and record keeping in a GIS platform
  • Support field survey teams in locating utilities and utility protection services and directs survey grade data collection for new and existing utilities
  • Responsible for marking and mapping all portions of the Utility System, including responding to Miss Utility requests on GU utilities, either directly or through supervision of utility locator
  • Communicates directly with internal staff, project managers, and design consultants on technical issues and design questions to support new construction
  • Provides and collects utility mapping data as part of excavation process, assists Operations & CAPEX team in infrastructure studies and planning activities for utility system modifications
  • Performs other duties as assignedby the Director of Energy Delivery

Additional Details

  • This role requires attendance at a worksiteon a daily basis
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver's license/clean driving record May drive company vehicle
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
  • This position consists of 75% of outdoor work, while performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions
  • Subject to 24-hour emergency call

Compensation

Salary Range: $62,400 - $90,505 USD annually

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
