Job Description

Waggonner & Ball, a Moffatt & Nichol Studio, is actively seeking an Architect to join our New Orleans office. The Architect will be actively working with our staff and leadership team on projects across the United States.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Develops design concepts for clients/projects.
  • Interfaces with design team and consultants on design issues and develops architectural solutions.
  • Develops, modifies, and reviews design drawings and construction documents and corrects and updates documents as required.
  • Coordinates and maintains collaborative Revit Models with a cross disciplinary team.
  • Performs design analyses and compilation of specifications for basic to complex architectural assignments.
  • Coordinates with Principals, Project Managers, and other team members to advance design concepts.
  • Leads the construction administration phase by reviewing shop drawings and creating a master log of the project submittals, as well as answering Requests for Information (RFI) and Architect's Supplemental Information (ASI) and preparation of change directives.
  • Prepares finished material sample boards and graphic presentations for client approval.
  • Coordinates with outside disciplines such as Civil, Structural, Electrical and Mechanical and other consultants.
  • Reviews building codes and conducts zoning analyses to ensure that designs comply with minimum legal standards.
  • Establishes and maintains budget, task schedule, and other components of the project work plan.
  • Stays current with graphic standards and building construction methods.
  • Participates in new business pursuits, including proposals and interviews.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree
  • Architect License
  • 6+ years of architecture and design experiences
  • Commitment to design excellence
  • Strong knowledge of design, trends, construction methodology, material application, and sustainable practices.
  • Mastery in Revit, AutoCAD, and Adobe CC Suite
  • Proficiency in Rendering Software, Lumion or Enscape
  • Project management experience
  • Collaborative and self-driven work ethic
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred education and experience:

  • Bachelor of Architecture degree
  • Master of Architecture
  • Interest in working at all scales of intervention and planning from regional systems to details.
  • Mastery of Rendering Software, Lumion and Enscape
  • 2+ years of project management experience

Physical requirements:

Majority of work is office based. Some site visits may be required which may necessitate navigating unpaved or natural terrain while carrying equipment.
