OVERVIEW

As a member of the Corporate Human Resources Team, this position contributes a high level of energy and organization to oversee compensation projects and ongoing initiatives for Florida Crystals Corporation and American Sugar Refining, Inc. to ensure their timely and accurate completion. Also actively supports the integration of processes and procedures, and is accountable for improving and monitoring processes to maximize their strategic value. The individual must be able to understand the strategic compensation needs of the company and to think through project requirements in order to provide solutions that support global initiatives.

 

This position will work closely with the corporate Compensation Manager to apply formal and informal influence to HR leaders, executives and team members across multiple departments and works with vendors to deliver results.  Individual must also be tactical in the sense of being able work at an operational level to complete work assignments and to provide compensation support for key HR initiatives.  Success in this role is based upon being able to demonstrate clear value to the business by executing against key objectives to support key stakeholders in HR and the business in achieving their strategic business objectives.

 

DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

•Monitors the effectiveness of existing compensation policies, guidelines and procedures recommending plan revision as well as new plans that are cost effective and consistent with compensation trends and corporate objectives; coordinates implementation and provides guidance to HR and business leaders.

•Works closely with other total rewards team members to identify opportunities to integrate work processes and to integrate the department.

•Provides advice to leaders and HR staff on pay decisions, policy and guideline interpretation and job evaluation including the design of creative solutions to specific compensation-related programs.

•Manages the administration of direct compensation (exempt and nonexempt cash compensation programs) including creating and presenting recommendations/proposals for equity adjustments, market alignment, restructuring and reorganizations which includes the processing, recording and reporting of compensation-related actions.

•Actively supports the configuration and testing of the SuccessFactors Compensation and Performance Management Modules and the ongoing utilization of the tool.

•Participates in and conducts both exempt and nonexempt salary surveys to ensure corporate compensation objectives are achieved.

•Keeps appraised of federal, state and local compensation laws and regulations in order to ensure company compliance and oversees ongoing FLSA reviews.

•Works closely with the Benefits team to ensure programs are viewed and designed to support the total reward philosophy of the organization; provides support to other total rewards initiatives and projects as needed.

•Partners with leadership and HR Business Partners to ensure successful adoption of new compensation processes, and is accountable for communication and training as needed.

•Performs regular Compensation data audits to ensure data accuracy.

•Oversees the administration of 401k programs and supports various benefits initiatives as required.

 

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

•Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Management or related discipline from accredited university

 

ESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES)

•5-10 years of progressively responsible compensation experience.

•Knowledge of government regulations as they apply to compensation base and incentive compensation programs, company policies and operations, with detailed knowledge of FLSA regulations

•Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

•Experience using an HRIS system, preferably SAP HR/HCM, and ability to develop and analyze reports and queries

•Experience writing reports and presentations, including creation through analysis to all levels of the company

•Strong written and verbal communication skills

•Knowledge and experience with benchmarking and market pricing jobs, including the completion of salary surveys.

•Knowledge and experience with creating and presenting recommendations/proposals for equity adjustments, market alignment, restructuring and reorganizations

•Prefer certification as a Certified Compensation Professional through the World @ Work, or actively working to attain certification.

•Professional training and experience with SAP HR/HCM and SuccessFactors modules

•Process Improvement and related process mapping skills
